New Apostolic Church in Sieker

The New Apostolic Church Bielefeld-Ost is one of the thirteen New Apostolic congregations in the Bielefeld church district and was formed in 2009 from the congregations of Sieker and Stieghorst .

History of the community of Sieker

The first services took place in the so-called “Nobben Villa” in 1910. This place was a poor brickwork and was rented. After about three years there were enough brothers and sisters in faith that a new meeting place could be found. This was found on Schlangenstrasse in the house of the Krüger family. The head of the congregation was priest August Ober until 1924 . A first choir was founded in this church, which recorded songs in the church and in the Oetkerhalle with the German Grammophon Society in the 1960s .

This meeting place soon became too small, and in 1924 the first church was built on Taubenstrasse. In the meantime, a flourishing community had emerged with the work of many officials and volunteers. But this church too became too small, and after a site inspection Chief Apostle Walter Schmidt decided that the church should be demolished and a new church should be built in 1968/69, which Chief Apostle Walter Schmidt named "Temple of Minors" on October 26, 1969. was consecrated.

In 1934 the first church was built at Flensburger Strasse 2. All brothers and sisters were involved in building the church. In 1982, however, the Stieghorst community moved again. organ

With the construction of the church in Sieker in 1969, a small organ with a total of 12 registers was also built by the Euler company . The console is centered on the organ, and the open swell is located directly above the console. It is flanked by the wooden pipes of the Subbass 16 ′. The main work stands in the middle above the swell. The organ is in the middle of the gallery opposite the altar. The organ still fulfills its purpose today and was overhauled at the end of 2009 by the organ builder Simon from Borgentreich .
