Miroslav Klůc (born December 1, 1922 in Nesuchyně , Czechoslovakia , † December 4, 2012 in the Czech Republic ) was a Czechoslovak ice hockey player and coach .
Career
Miroslav Klůc began his career as an ice hockey player in his home village Nesuchyně in Okres Rakovník . In 1948 he moved to ZJS Sokol Hutě Chomutov , who at that time belonged to the second division. Miroslav Klůc quickly developed into a real leader who (together with his team) regularly scored over 100 goals per season. Due to his physical size, strong hands and arms and good shooting technique, he was a gifted attacker.
During the 1949/50 season he scored a total of 226 goals. In 1951 he managed with Chomutov promotion to the 1st division , the highest Czechoslovak division. In the following years he was the best goalscorer four times (1952, 1953, 156 and 1957). From 1954 he also led his team on the ice as a player-coach. In 1958 Klůc left his hometown club because they no longer wanted to allow him to act as a player and coach at the same time. When he left Chomutov, he had scored a total of 1194 goals in 473 games for his home club. Miroslav Klůc is considered to be the most important player in the club history of today's Piráti Chomutov .
Klůc moved in 1958, at the age of 36, to the CHZ Litvínov , for whom he was still active as a player-coach with whom he reached promotion to the first division at the end of the 1958/59 season. Klůc played for Litvínov for three more years before ending his active career at the age of 40. For Litvínov he scored a total of 73 goals and 17 assists in 105 first division games. In total, he scored 222 goals in 220 games in the first division.
After the end of his career, Klůc was head coach at VTZ Chomutov in 1963 , before he left Czechoslovakia and was head coach of Lausanne HC between 1964 and 1967 . In the seasons 1968/69 and 1969/70 he was a coach at the CHZ Litvínov.
Between 1970 and 1975 he was head coach at Olimpija Ljubljana and the Yugoslav national team . With Olimpija he won three Yugoslav championship titles .
