Arnold Kadlec (born January 8, 1959 in Most , Czechoslovakia ) is a former Czech ice hockey player .

Career

Arnold Kadlec began his career as an ice hockey player in the youth department of CHZ Litvínov , for whose senior team he was active from 1976 to 1978 in the first division , the highest Czechoslovak division. He then had to do his military service and played from 1978 to 1980 for the army sports club ASD Dukla Jihlava before returning to CHZ Litvínov for another nine years. The defender spent the 1989/90 season at Lukko Rauma in the Finnish SM-liiga . The following season he moved to SHC Fassa from the Italian A1 series . Most recently, the two-time Olympian ran for the KHL VTJ Chomutov in the 1st ČNHL , the second Czechoslovak division, in the 1991/92 season , before ending his career at the age of 33.

International

For Czechoslovakia , Kadlec took part in the junior division exclusively in the U20 World Junior Championship in 1979 , where he and his team won the silver medal. In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the World Championships in 1981 , 1982 , 1983 , 1985 and 1986 as well as at the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid and 1984 in Sarajevo . At the 1981 World Championships he won the bronze medal with Czechoslovakia, the silver medal at the 1982 and 1983 World Championships and the 1984 Winter Olympics and the gold medal at the 1985 World Championships. He also went to Czechoslovakia in 1981 at the Canada Cup , where he was elected to the All-Star Team.
