Zero Hour is an American progressive metal band from Pleasanton , California that was formed in 1993.

history

The band was formed in 1993 by twin brothers Jasun Tipton (electric guitar) and Troy Tipton (bass). A short time later, drummer Mike Guy joined the cast. Together they recorded a first self-titled demo in 1994. In 1995, singer Frank Mendez and keyboardist Mike Conner joined the cast. Mendez left the band towards the end of the year and was replaced by Erik Rosvold. Conner fell ill with carpal tunnel syndrome in 1997 , so he had to leave the band. He has been replaced by Matt Guillory and Phil Bennett. Her self-titled debut album was self-published in 1998 and had a circulation of 2,000 copies. The second album The Towers of Avarice was released in 2001 via Sensory Records . The album received reviews in various magazines such as the Dutch Aardschok , the Hungarian Metal Hammer and the German and French Rock Hard .

After the publication followed a tour through Europe and two appearances on the ProgPower USA in Atlanta . Chris Salinas was the new singer in the band. In 2006 the new line-up released the album Specs of Pictures Burnt Beyond . In 2006 and 2007 further appearances followed in the USA, among them again ProgPower USA and was the opening band for Queensrÿche . In addition, there were first appearances in Iceland . In 2008 the band released the album Dark Deceiver , which was produced by Dino Alden .

The band plays classic Progressive Metal, which has a very complex and varied character.
