David Balázs (born April 7, 1974 in Most , Czechoslovakia ) is a former Czech ice hockey player who was under contract with various clubs in Europe. In Germany he played for the Dresdner Eislöwen in the 2006/07 season .

Career

David Balázs began his career at HC Litvínov in the Czech Extraliga , for which he completed over 320 Extraliga games between 1993 and 2006, in which he scored 48 goals and prepared 96 more. His engagement was interrupted by several short assignments on loan for HC Baník Most in the Czech 2nd division (third class) and by two seasons with HC Energie Karlovy Vary . In the 2005/06 season he was on the ice for seven games for Salawat Julajew Ufa in the Russian Super League before moving back to Karlovy Vary for the following season . In January 2007 Balázs signed a trial contract with the Dresdner Eislöwen , which was later extended until the end of the season to compensate for the departure of Robert Brezina . In the first four appearances in the jersey of the ice lions he scored three goals and one assist . But he could not show the performance in the following games and therefore did not receive a new contract, but switched to the Norwegian GET league for Trondheim IK. There he was the second best scorer behind Libor Pavlis in the 2007/08 season .

From March 2008 David Balasz played inline skater hockey in the 1st Bundesliga with the Highlanders Lüdenscheid - he caused a sensation when he was in the league for the first time when he and his strike partner Jiří Švejda scored eleven goals. For the 2008/09 season he moved back to the Czech first division for SK Kadaň . In spring 2010 he was loaned to HC Karlovy Vary , but returned to Kadan for the 2010/11 season.

In November 2011 Balasz moved to the Spanish Super League for CD Hielo Bipolo Vitoria - Gasteiz , with which he won the Spanish championship in 2013. Due to the championship title, he played with the CD Hielo in the 2013/14 season in the IIHF Continental Cup before moving to CG Puigcerdà in November 2013 .
