The Inline Skater Hockey Germany ( ISHD ) is the Sports Commission for Inline Skater Hockey of German Rollsport- and Inline Association (DRIV). The ISHD is an official member of the International Inline Skater Hockey Federation (IISHF) and represents the national team of the DRIV.

history

The first forerunner organization was the Rhineland League, founded in 1983 . In 1985 the 'Skaterhockey Division' was founded in the Rollsportverband Nordrhein-Westfalen with the start of games in two leagues. Two years later, the "German Roller Sports Association" (DRB) founded the 'Skaterhockey Division' (FSH), of which North Rhine-Westphalia and the regional associations of Berlin, Hamburg and Bavaria become members. The first German champion in the men's age group was determined as early as 1986 when the sport of (inline) skater hockey was incorporated into the German Rolling Sports Association, today's German Rolling Sports and Inline Association .

The first German champion was the SCC Deutzer Haie. In the association tables published in the DRB's roller sport magazine, the SCC Deutzer Haie were still listed as RSC Rhineland Cologne / Team Deutz in the 1986 season. The Skaterhockey Club Cologne (SCC) set up its own business in 1986, but the association only noted the spin-off on January 1st, 1987. Nevertheless, the ISHD leads the first German champions as SCC Deutzer Haie.

After the German championships for women and schoolchildren were held in the following years, the 1st men's Bundesliga was founded in 1996 and the first national team was formed. In 1995 the first players started with inline skates and the first international match between England and Germany took place in England.

In 1997, due to the increasing proportion of inline skaters, the 'Skaterhockey Division' was renamed “Inline Skaterhockey Germany” (ISHD). The first European inline skating championships are held in the men's, women's and juniors' divisions. In 2000 there were 25 leagues nationwide.

The ISHD is currently playing in three men's national leagues. There is the 1st Bundesliga and the 2nd Bundesliga , which was divided into north and south . There is also a 1st women's league and two 2nd women's leagues ( North and South ). In the men's division, the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga are followed by the regional leagues, of which the ISHD organizes the Central and West leagues itself, while the other regional leagues are looked after by individual regional associations.

Furthermore, the ISHD organized for historical reasons nor the NRW state leagues ( Rhineland , Westphalia ), the first Junior League West , the first Youth League West , the first student league and the other second junior leagues and the Bambini (U10) organized.

Bundesliga committee

In 2010, a Bundesliga committee consisting of representatives of the ISHD and the clubs was set up to further professional develop the men's Bundesliga. As a result of the first working conferences, a single-track Bundesliga with twelve teams from 2012 was planned and it was determined for the 2011 season that the teams in the first five places in the North and South Bundesliga automatically qualify for the new 1st Bundesliga, while the two sixth-placed teams qualify for the new Bundesliga one and the leaders of the 2nd national leagues play off the other remaining league place among themselves.

In 2020, the men's Bundesliga will play with 10 teams and the women's Bundesliga with 7 teams.

Game mode

In the men's and women's area, the German champions will be played in the so-called play-offs in the 'best of three' mode after a preliminary round in which each team competes against the other teams in a first and a second leg .

In the junior, youth and school areas, the finalists of the respective regional associations compete against each other in a final tournament, where the German champions are played. No German champion is played in the Bambini.
