The 2011 season is the 16th season of the Inline Skaterhockey Bundesliga . A German champion will be determined for the 26th time . The organizer is the Inline Skater Hockey Germany Sports Commission of the German Rolling Sports and Inline Association . The main round started on February 19, 2011. For the 2012 season, the north and south seasons will be merged into a single-track 1st Bundesliga. The teams in places 1 to 5 qualify for this. The teams in place 6 play a relegation with one round trip each, as do the two champions from the 2nd Bundesliga North and South. The German champion was TV Augsburg , who prevailed against the Duisburg Ducks in the play-off final . This was the first time that the championship title went to Bavaria and not to a team from North Rhine-Westphalia.
The North and South relays start with ten teams each. Within each season, each team meets every other team in the return leg. There are two points for a win and one point for a draw. In the event of a tie at the end of the main round, the direct comparison decides on the ranking. The first four teams of each season reach the play-offs. In addition to these eight teams, the two teams in fifth place in both seasons will qualify for the single-track Bundesliga from 2012. The teams in sixth place in both seasons will determine a further participant in the 2012 Bundesliga season in relegation games. Twelfth place will be determined in another relegation series between the champions of the 2nd Bundesliga North and South. The loser of the relegation of the sixth in the table and all teams from ranks seven down are relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga. The winner of the play-offs is German champions.

Relegation
The teams in the sixth place of both seasons, the Rockets Essen and the Crash Eagles Kaarst, meet each other in a round trip. The club that wins in the aggregate remains in the 1st Bundesliga, the loser is relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga. In addition, it was planned that the champions of the second national leagues North and South would meet in a relegation series in a return leg. But since the master of the north relay, the Rostock coatis, as well as the clubs entitled to move up in second and third place (Salt City Boars Lüneburg and Bremerhaven Whales) did not participate in the relegation, the place went to the second in the 2nd Bundesliga South , over the HC Merdingen, who thus meets the southern champions TSV Bernhardswald . The winner is promoted to the 1st Bundesliga, the loser remains in the 2nd Bundesliga.
The relegation became obsolete on the day of the second leg between Essen and Kaarst, as TSV Bernhardswald, as the winner of the promotion games of the second division, declared its waiver because the admission requirements (Halle as the venue) could not be met. Since HC Merdingen also renounced as a losing club, Kaarst remained as a loser in the relegation of the first division sixth as did Essen winner in the first division.
