The 1998 season is the third season of the Inline Skaterhockey Bundesliga , in which a German champion is determined for the 13th time . The organizer is the Inline Skater Hockey Germany Sports Commission of the German Rolling Sports and Inline Association . In 1998 the previous German Rollsport Association gave itself this new name. The German champions were again the Crash Eagles Kaarst, who defended their title against the newly promoted Duisburg Ducks in the final.

mode

The 1st Bundesliga starts with ten teams. Each team meets every other team in the first and second leg. There are two points for a win and one point for a draw. In the event of a tie at the end of the main round, the direct comparison decides on the ranking. The first four teams reach the play-offs. The teams in ranks five to nine have qualified for the next season. The bottom of the table is relegated directly to the 2nd Bundesliga. There is no relegation this season, as the Bundesliga will be increased to twelve teams for the 1999 season. The winner of the play-offs is German champions.

From the 2nd Bundesliga, Powerkrauts Berlin (1st of 2nd Bundesliga North), Mendener Mambas (1st of 2nd Bundesliga South) and Crefelder SC after the playoffs of the second division (against the Lippstadt Rogues ) climb into the 1. Bundesliga on.
