The Skater Union Augsburg is a sports club for inline skater hockey from Augsburg , which was a founding member of the Bundesliga in 1996 . When the club was founded in 1991, the Skater Union was the first independent club for inline skater hockey in Bavaria .
history
The Skater Union was founded in 1991 as an independent association, but initially only took part in invitation tournaments. After entering the league game in the 1992 season, the march into the first division succeeded, where the Skater Union became part of the newly founded Inline Skaterhockey Bundesliga in 1996 and held there until 2001. That year, many players migrated to local competitor TV Augsburg , which had founded a new department for inline skate hockey.
As a result, the Skater Union turned away from competitive sports and reoriented itself towards popular sports , which can be seen today, among other things, in the youth work with a large youth department.
Game operation
The Skater Union currently has five teams involved in league games: the first men's team plays in the Regionalliga Süd-Ost, the second and third men's teams in the regional league. The junior and youth teams each take part in the corresponding league in their age group. There is no regular league operation for the student and Bambini teams, they take part in various tournaments.
All teams of the Skater Union Augsburg play their games in the Haunstetten ice rink , where the club is the main tenant in the summer season.
