From the Rhineland League, the SU Coeln rises second. The table first HC Köln-West II was not eligible for promotion.

The SU Coeln originally started as RSC Rheinland / Team Jugendpark, after its spin-off it joined SC Cologne as SC Cologne / Team Jugendpark in the 1987 season and became independent as SU Coeln (originally planned as SU Cologne) for the 1989 season.
