The 2018 season is the 23rd season of the Inline Skaterhockey Bundesliga , in which a German champion will be determined for the 33rd time . The organizer is the Inline Skater Hockey Germany Sports Commission of the German Rolling Sports and Inline Association . The German champions were again the Crash Eagles Kaarst, who defended their title against HC Köln-West Rheinos in the final.

mode

The 1st Bundesliga starts with twelve teams. Each team meets every other team in the first and second leg. There are three points for a win in regular time. If a game ends in a draw after 60 minutes, a penalty shoot-out follows immediately. Two points are awarded for a win after a shootout and one point for a loss after a shootout. In the event of a tie at the end of the main round, the direct comparison decides on the ranking. The first eight teams reach the play-offs. The teams in positions nine and ten have qualified for the next season. The teams in positions eleven and twelve will be relegated directly to the 2nd Bundesliga. The winner of the play-offs is German champions.

Climbers

From the 2nd Bundesliga, TV Augsburg (champions of 2nd Bundesliga South) and TGW Kassel Wizards (3rd of 2nd Bundesliga North) are promoted directly to the 1st Bundesliga. The joint play-offs of the two second division seasons decide on promotion. Both teams have won their respective semi-final series. However, following the semi-final series, the Kassel Wizards declared that they would forego promotion, as participation in the 1st Bundesliga was not economically feasible.

The Sauerland Steel Bulls withdrew from the 1st Bundesliga after the season.

Successors

The Commanders Velbert remain as relegated athletes in the 1st Bundesliga. The inline skater hockey Bundesliga will only start with eleven teams in the 2019 season.
