The 1995 season is the first and only season of the top division under the name of 1. Skaterhockey League (1. SHL), in which a German champion is determined for the tenth time. For the first time, the title holder will be determined in the form of play-offs. The organizer is the Skater Hockey Division (FSH) in the German Roller Sports Association . The Düsseldorf Rams became German champions for the seventh time by winning the play-off final against the Bullskater Düsseldorf. The inline skater hockey Bundesliga is introduced for the 1996 season .

The first skater hockey league starts with nine teams. Each team meets every other team in the first and second leg. There are two points for a win and one point for a draw. In the event of a tie at the end of the main round, the direct comparison decides on the ranking. The first four teams reach the play-offs. The winner of the play-offs is German champions.
Due to the establishment of the Bundesliga in the 1996 season, promotion and relegation was suspended.

Foundation of the Bundesliga and participants
Because the Bundesliga was founded, promotion and relegation was suspended. All clubs could apply for membership in the Bundesliga. From the 1st SHL all clubs except the RSC Aachen were accepted into the Bundesliga. The Bochum Lakers (3rd) and the Red Devils Berlin (7th) came from the 2nd SHL. The new Bundesliga will start with the following ten teams:
Düsseldorf Rams, Bullskater Düsseldorf, Crash Eagles Kaarst, Crefelder SC, HC Köln-West, SU Augsburg, SU Coeln, Kölner SC Hawks, Bochum Lakers, Red Devils Berlin.
