In September 2012 Christian Vogg moved to Geneva as Head of Radio and Music for the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) . He and his team were responsible for the world's largest music exchange, where up to 3,500 concerts from classical , jazz , rock / pop and folk are exchanged between the EBU members every year . Vogg set up a new video exchange platform (euroradio2see), planned the new construction of the music database and modernized workflows. He and his team managed the contact to the EBU members (69 stations in 56 countries) via 19 specialist groups and he organized the annual general assembly of radio directors, the EBU Radio Assembly. In regular dialogue with the EBU members in Europe, as well as with industry representatives and technical experts, he advocated the strategic further development of radio based on multimedia solutions. One focus was the Europe-wide introduction of DABplus and hybrid radio applications in smartphones and cars ( connected car ). Vogg was also on a diplomatic mission with EBU members to offer the EBU's expertise on strategic issues. Together with the EBU Technical Directorate and the EBU Academy, he developed the Integrated Media Production Strategy ( IMPS) for tri- media newsrooms . He invented “New Radio Day” as an annual exchange meeting for pan-European audio trends from public broadcasters and was a regular guest at national and international media conferences as a keynote speaker on convergent media strategy.

Since November 2016 he has been Head of Documentation and Archives and Chief Data Officer at Swiss Radio and Television (SRF) in Zurich . In addition to optimizing traditional archive services (archiving / indexing, research, digitization), he is responsible for data management for the broadcaster. In his area, he has been building the first team of experts for artificial intelligence since 2018 . The first projects are dedicated to the implementation of speech-to-text services in the workflows of radio, television and archives. With an external partner, he has been developing an algorithm for the transcription of Swiss German dialects since 2019 . Further projects are aimed at more efficient linking of metadata across the entire production workflow, including rights data in particular. Vogg led the development of the SRF metadata roadmap, is the author of SRF Data Governance and is committed to the stringent strategic implementation of all data-driven processes in editorial, technology and administration.

Due to the archival opening required by Swiss law, Vogg and his team are in the process of making large amounts of archive material available to the Swiss public on PLAY SRF. At the same time, his team operates archive channels on Facebook and YouTube . In cooperation with cultural heritage institutions and museums, he works to promote and preserve Switzerland's audiovisual memory. In addition, SRF (like the other SRG channels ) has been providing publishers in German-speaking Switzerland with free archive videos for online use since 2019 , a service for which the Vogg team is responsible.
