The University of Alexandria ( in Arabic جامعة الإسكندرية) is the university of the city of Alexandria and the second largest university in Egypt . The modern University of Alexandria was founded in 1942 from a four-year-old branch of the University of Cairo (then: Farouk University) and at that time consisted of seven faculties.
