Speechwriters are ghostwriters who specialize in creating speech manuscripts . Like them, they do not appear as authors of their texts themselves , but appear invisible, like a ghost to their clients. Salaried speechwriters usually only work for their employer; freelancers write for multiple clients.

Speechwriters have been proven to have been around for more than two millennia. In ancient Greece , the so-called logographers had an important function as the author of court speeches . Today, a business speech costs between 1500 euros (simple and short lecture ) and 50,000 euros (main or celebratory speech by a group ).

Speech writers ideally provide their client with a manuscript that is ready for presentation in terms of content, style and form, and that is tailored to the speaker personality and the speaking situation.
