The 2004 season was the 9th season of the Inline Skaterhockey Bundesliga . A German champion was determined for the 19th time . The organizer is the Inline Skater Hockey Germany Sports Commission of the German Rolling Sports and Inline Association . The German champions were the Duisburg Ducks , who were able to prevail in the final against HC Köln-West .

The North and South relays started with nine teams each. Within each season, each team meets every other team in the return leg. There are two points for a win and one point for a draw. In the event of a tie at the end of the main round, the direct comparison decides on the ranking. The first four teams of each season reach the play-offs. The winner of the play-offs is German champions.

The teams in positions five and six have qualified for the new season. The table seventh and table eighth of both seasons play crosswise in a relegation from two more relegated. The last two seasons are relegated directly to the 2nd Bundesliga. The two champions of the 2nd Bundesliga go straight to the 1st Bundesliga.
