The 1st Bundesliga starts with eleven teams. Each team meets every other team in the first and second leg. There are three points for a win in regular time. If a game ends in a draw after 60 minutes, a penalty shoot-out follows immediately. Two points are awarded for a win after a shootout and one point for a loss after a shootout. In the event of a tie at the end of the main round, the direct comparison decides on the ranking. The first eight teams reach the play-offs. The team in ninth place has qualified for the next season. The teams in ranks ten and eleven are relegated directly to the 2nd Bundesliga. The league will be reduced to ten teams for the following season. The winner of the play-offs is German champions.

    Climbers

The Red Devils Berlin (champions of the 2nd Bundesliga North) are promoted from the 2nd Bundesliga. The joint play-offs of the two second division seasons decide on promotion. Only the second division champions rise in sport. But both the IHC Atting as second division champion and final opponent TGW Kassel Wizards have renounced promotion. The Red Devils Berlin, who failed in the semi-finals due to Atting, move up.
