The SHC Rockets Essen 1985 e. V. is an inline skater hockey club from Essen with the departments men's teams, youth teams, women's teams and hobby teams. The association was founded in 1985 as SHC Essen and merged with Moskitos Essen in 1996 in order to gain strength. In 2008, however, they separated again because of disagreements between the individual chairmen. The "Rockets" was added and the club has been called SHC Rockets Essen 1985 e. V.

history

As with other skater hockey clubs, the club was founded in 1985 by active people who had previously trained in publicly accessible places in order to improve the general conditions.

At the beginning, the club only participated in the Rhineland Championships with one senior team. A classic age structure, starting with Bambini through a school, youth and junior class, had not yet been established, for example, young players often played in the men's team. Due to the steadily increasing number of members - especially in the junior sector - the club was able to take part in the championships of the respective classes for the first time in the youth, junior and ladies sector at the end of the eighties.

In 2005, the general conditions could be improved again with the move to the “Rollsportarena Essen” as a separate training and game facility.

In 2014, the German Inline Skaterhockey Cup won another title in Essen.

In 2015 there was the championship title in the German Inline Skaterhockeyliga, where HC Köln-West Rheinos I was beaten in three finals (9: 5/5: 7/11: 1). They also won the European Cup Winners' Cup.

In 2016 the club made its debut at the European Champion Clubs' Cup.

SHC teams have so far won national and international titles, and national and international events have been organized for the respective associations.
