TSV Schwabmünchen Mammuts is the name of the inline skater hockey department of the Swabian sports club TSV Schwabmünchen .

history

The inline skater hockey department of TSV Schwabmünchen was founded in 2002. In 2003 the TSV started in the Landesliga Allgäu of the Bavarian Roller Sport and Inline Association (BRIV) and won the runner-up. In the 2004 season, the club entered the 1st team in the Oberliga Süd and the newly founded 2nd team in the Landesliga Allgäu. Once again the "first" won the runner-up.

In 2005 the 1st team started in the Regionalliga Süd-Ost and won the championship title, the 2nd men's team played in the Landesliga Schwaben, the "third" won the runner-up in the Landesliga Allgäu. The newly formed junior team took third place in its first year.

In the 2006 season, the 1st team rose from the 2nd Bundesliga South ( inline skater hockey Germany ) to the 1st Bundesliga South and just missed the playoffs there in the first year. In the 2008 season, the South German championship succeeded. The 2nd team of the Mammuts competes in the Oberliga-Süd (BRIV), the 3rd team in the Landesliga Schwaben (BRIV) and the juniors in the Juniorenliga Süd (BRIV).

With the defender Simon Arzt, the Mammuts provided a German national player who was elected to the All-Star squad at his first European Championship in 2009 . The performance of Dominik Hägele is also worth mentioning. In all four years he became the top scorer in the 1st Bundesliga South from Schwabmünchner.

Four Mammoth players were suspended for a long time at the beginning of the 2011 season: Captain Nicolai Wagner (7 games), assistant Dominik Hägele (2 games), Matthias Batscheider (12 games) and Thomas Kalnik (20 games). Because of the thin squad, it was difficult to compensate for these losses. Due to the restructuring of the 1st league, the last 4 of the 10 teams were relegated. Unfortunately, after the problems caused by the suspensions and a so-called epidemic year, the mammoths only got 7th place, which meant relegation to the 2nd Bundesliga.

Board member Marcus Kruppe, who had been director and board member of Mammuts since 2002, left after the season for professional reasons. His successor is his older brother Christian Kruppe.

Shortly before the preparation for the 2012 season, two bad news followed that hit the mammoths hard. Both the captain and co-founder of the Nicolas Wagner club and the national player Simon Arzt left the Schwabmünchner for Augsburg to join the rival club TV Augsburg. The TSV had no choice but to add new players to the squad, which was achieved with the newcomers Alexander Krafczyk and Brian Bartl. The former goalkeeper Markus Keller also rejoined the team after a two-year break, but this time as an outfield player. This season, the mammoths showed that they can still convince in terms of sport. Back in the 2nd Bundesliga South they reached 1st place with 12 wins, 1 draw and only 3 defeats. The opponents were particularly impressed by the new offensive strength. With 161 goals scored in only 16 games, they had the strongest storm in the league, and this with a gap of 35 hits on the pursuer Merdingen. Alexander Krafczyk in particular was able to convince in his first season and was invited to the national team.

Despite the sporting success, which would have enabled a direct promotion to the 1st Bundesliga, the club unfortunately had to do without for financial reasons.

In 2013, the Mammuts will again compete in the 2nd Bundesliga South and try to repeat the success of the previous year. Patrick Zimmermann, another striker, should help. There is another change in the goalkeeper position. The long-time back-up Pierre Birk was signed up for the second team in order to gain match practice. In return, Patrick Zibrowius was reported by the second team.

particularities

In the 2008 season, the Mammuts were the first ISHD team to introduce their own warm-up jersey. This was designed in the colors of a sponsor and thus neon pink.

Another special feature is the mammoth's trainer situation. They have not had a coach since the club was founded, which is unique in the 1st Bundesliga.
