The European Ice Hockey Cup in the 1994 season was the 30th staging of the competition of the same name by the International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF . The competition began in October 1994; the final was played in December 1994. A total of 29 teams took part. Jokerit Helsinki won the title.

Mode and participants

The national champions of the game year 1993/94 of the European members of the IIHF were qualified for the competition. Three teams played two members for the preliminary round in a qualifying tournament. 18 teams were set for the preliminary round. The preliminary round consisted of five tournaments with four teams each. In a single round, two participants each were played for the semifinals. Six seeded teams were added to these ten teams. The semifinals were played in four tournaments with four teams each. The group winners and the two best runners-up qualified for the final tournament, two teams were seeded. The final tournament was played in two preliminary round groups with four teams. The two group winners met in the final.
