Juha Petteri Lind (born January 2, 1974 in Helsinki ) is a former Finnish ice hockey player who played for the Dallas Stars and Montréal Canadiens in the National Hockey League from 1992 to 2010 .
Career
Juha Lind began his career as a hockey player in the youth of Jokerit Helsinki , for whose professional team he was initially active in the SM-liiga from 1992 to 1997 . During this time he won the championship with the team in 1994 and 1996 , and the European Cup in 1995 and 1996 . In addition, the attacker was runner-up in 1995 with Jokerit and in 1993 he reached third place in the European Cup. During this time, Lind was also selected in the eighth round of the 1992 NHL Entry Draft as a total of 178th player from the Minnesota North Stars .
This gave the rights to the player in the following year to their successor team, the Dallas Stars , for which Lind made his debut in the National Hockey League in the 1997/98 season . He also came this season on eight missions for their farm team , the Michigan K-Wings from the International Hockey League . For the 1998/99 season , the left-shooter returned to Jokerit. After the Finn had started the 1999/00 season with the Dallas Stars, he was given over to the Montréal Canadiens during the season , for which he was on the ice for the following year and a half in the NHL.
In summer 2001 Lind signed a contract with Södertälje SK from the Swedish Elitserien , for which he was active for a total of three years. He then played again for a season for Jokerit before he was 2005 to 2007 again in Europe under contract, where he met the EC Red Bull Salzburg in the 2006/07 season , the Austrian Championship won. The winger also stayed abroad in the 2007/08 season when he played for Leksands IF in HockeyAllsvenskan , the second Swedish league. From 2008 to 2010 Lind was on the ice for Jokerit Helsinki for the fourth and last time in the SM-liiga. He then ended his career at the age of 36.
International
For Finland , Lind took part in the U20 Junior World Championship in 1994 , as well as the World Championships in 1997 , 1999 , 2000 , 2001 and 2002 . He was also in Finland's squad at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano and 2002 in Salt Lake City .
