Arvi Lind

Arvi Kullervo Lind (born December 21, 1940 in Lauritsala , now part of Lappeenranta ) is a Finnish journalist . From 1965 to 2003 he worked as a newscaster for the public broadcaster YLE TV1 , making him one of the longest-serving speakers.

Life

His YLE career began on October 15, 1965, and the last news program with him aired on October 15, 2003, and was seen by more than 1.6 million viewers. By the beginning of 2004, he completely withdrew from work there. Since then he has lectured on his work at universities and has been an ombudsman at the newspaper Keskisuomalainen since 2005 .

  • Lind's son, Juha Lind is a professional ice hockey player, he played in the NHL , among others .
  • Lind won the Finnish Telvis television award in 1999 and 2004 .
