The European Ice Hockey Cup in the 1993 season was the 29th edition of the competition of the same name by the International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF . The competition began in October 1993; the final was played in December 1993. A total of 29 teams took part. TPS Turku won the title.

Mode and participants

The national champions of the game year 1992/93 of the European members of the IIHF were qualified for the competition. The competition was played out with a preliminary round in groups in a simple mode. Then the respective group winners and runners-up played the places. In the quarter-final groups, the following teams had to qualify for the semi-finals:

Preliminary round

The preliminary round of the European Cup was played from October 8-10, 1993 in five groups. The first in the group and the four best second in the group, i.e. nine teams, reached the semi-finals. There they had to deal with seven seeded teams.

Final tournament

The final tournament was held from December 26th to 30th, 1993 in Düsseldorf, Duisburg and Ratingen. The first two of the group made it to the final, the two runners-up played for the bronze medal.
