The Nijmegen Devils are a Dutch ice hockey club from Nijmegen , founded in 1968 as S.IJ. Nijmegen founded. The club's first team has played in the BeNe League since 2015 .
history
The ice hockey club was founded in 1968 under the name S.IJ. Nijmegen founded after the city of Nijmegen had built the IJsstadium Heyendaal . From 1971 the club took part in the top division.
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, the Nijmegen Tigers took part in the IIHF Continental Cup in the 1997 , 1998 , 2000/01 and 2001/02 seasons. The team was eliminated in all four participations in the second qualifying round.
In the 2009/10 season, the team won the Dutch championship title for the ninth time.
