The Phantoms Antwerp (until 2009 Phantoms Deurne ) are a Belgian ice hockey club from Deurne , a district of Antwerp , which was founded in 1972 and plays in the BeNe League . The Phantoms play their home games in the IJsbaan Ruggerveld .

history

The Phantoms Deurne, founded in 1972, won their first title in 1988 with the Belgian Cup . From 1996 to 1998 the club won the Belgian cup competition three times in a row, and two years later the team also won the Belgian championship for the first time . In 2001 the double came from winning the national championship and the cup competition. The eighth cup victory was achieved in 2005, making the club the Belgian record cup winner. Furthermore, the club participated in the 2003/04 season at the discharge of the IIHF Continental Cup in part. In a group with the two Spanish teams CH Jaca and FC Barcelona HG as well as the Dutch representative Amstel Tijgers Amsterdam achieved a record of one win, one draw and one defeat. While the Phantoms had no chance against the club from Amsterdam and lost 0:14, they managed an 8-3 win against the CH Jaca.

In 2009 the club was renamed Phantoms Antwerp. In 2015 he won the first title in twelve years.
