history
Podhale Nowy Targ was founded in 1932. After failing to win a title in its first three decades, the team has dominated Polish ice hockey since the mid-1960s and has won the national championship 19 times , making it the country's record champions. She also won the Polish Cup in 2004 and 2005. At the European level, Nowy Targ represented the Polish national colors in the IIHF Continental Cup several times . In their only participation in the cross-national Interliga , they won this in the 2003/04 season . In the 2011/12 season Podhale was last in the round game operation and then lost the decisive play-down game against KS Toruń and thus rose from the Ekstraliga . In 2013 he was promoted to the Ekstraliga again. On December 2, 2013, the licensing committee of the Polish Ice Hockey Association initiated proceedings against the club with the aim of revoking its license because payments had not been made to the association. The team was finally able to play the season to the end, but lost their best players to other clubs, with the result that they were bottom of the table at the end of the season. Due to the financially conditioned withdrawal of the KTH Krynica , Podhale Nowy Targ was able to avoid relegation to the second-class I league . The following year, Podhale consolidated and finished the season in third place.
