history

Orlik Opole was founded in 1996. The team's greatest success was winning the championship title of the second-class I league in the 2002/03 season and the associated promotion to the Ekstraliga , the highest Polish division. In the 2003/04 season , the team reached 30 points in 28 games, but then had to withdraw from the league and then played again in the second-class I league. It was only after ten years that it returned to first class in 2014. There the team was able to reach seventh place and thus the playoff quarter-finals in the first year, which however was lost to the reigning champions KH Sanok with 0: 3 games. In the following years, too, the Opole team failed in the quarter-finals. In 2019, the team was only tenth and lost in the pre-playoffs to Stoczniowiec Gdańsk . In the playouts she was only third behind Zagłębie Sosnowiec and I-league champion Naprzód Janow and had to accept relegation.
