The Klub Sportowy Toruń HSA is a Polish ice hockey club from Toruń ( Thorn in German ), which again belonged to the highest Polish league, the Ekstraliga , from 2015 to 2017 .
history
During the time at KS Pomorzanin, the team reached third place in the Polish championship in 1950, 1967 and 1969. The biggest success was the runner-up title in 1968. Five players of the club took part in the Olympic Games : Tadeusz Tulidziński in Oslo 1952, Józef Stefaniak , Józef Wiśniewski and Andrzej Żurawski in Innsbruck 1964 and Ludwik Czachowski in Sapporo 1972 .
In 1990 the ice hockey division became independent again under the name Towimor Toruń and in 2001 took the name TKH Toruń. Due to changing main sponsors of the club, the name changed frequently in the 1990s and 2000s. After the club's relegation to the first division in 2010, the TKH Toruń was dissolved and the successor club KS Toruń HSA was founded on the basis of the local ice hockey school MKS Sokoły Toruń . This rose back to the Ekstraliga in 2011 , but had to withdraw from the game in autumn 2012 after 14 match days in the 2012/13 season. From 2013 to 2015 KS Toruń played in the I league , the second highest Polish division. After being promoted in 2015, the club was able to stay in the Ekstraliga in 2016, but then had to relegate to the I league in 2017 after the playouts were lost to Stoczniowiec Gdańsk . In 2018, however, they returned to the top division, in which they reached sixth place and thus the playoffs in 2019. But there was then lost in the quarter-finals against record champions Podhale Nowy Targ .
The club's second team currently plays in the I league.
