Master: Podhale Nowy Targ

The 2003/04 season of the Interliga was the fifth edition of the ice hockey championship designed as the successor to the Alpine League and was played with a total of nine teams from four countries. The defending champion was Alba Volán Székesfehérvár from Hungary, the new champion was Podhale Nowy Targ , a participant from Poland for the first time.

Participant and mode

As in previous years, the field of participants remained essentially unchanged. However, the last placed HK Bled had left the league as well as the Slovak HKm Zvolen and the Serbian HK Vojvodina Novi Sad . There were three representatives from Poland, of which the Podhale Nowy Targ team won the championship right away.

The mode had changed too. In the basic round a simple round trip was played, which resulted in a total of sixteen rounds. This was followed by playoffs with quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals, although all series were played for the first time as best-of-three series, so that only the victories and no goal difference were decisive. The placement games that were played up to the preseason were canceled.
