The 2002/03 season of the Interliga was the fourth edition of the ice hockey championship designed as the successor to the Alpine League and was played with a total of nine teams from five countries. The defending champion was HDD Olimpija Ljubljana from Slovenia, the new champion was Alba Volán Székesfehérvár , a participant from Hungary for the first time.
Participant and mode
The field of participants remained essentially unchanged from the previous season. The HK Bled from Slovenia had decided after a year to re-show, but finished last again and then did not take more part in the league. The Slovak club MHK Dubnica had withdrawn from the championship, but HKm Zvolen competed with a farm team.
A simple round-trip round was played in the basic round. This was followed by playoffs with semi-finals and finals, in which the champions were determined. At the same time, the final score of the championship was played out in placement games. Playoffs and placement games were played in two matches per series, with first the wins and then the better goal difference counted.
