Balázs Ladányi ( Hungarian Ladányi Balázs ; born January 6, 1976 in Dunaújváros ) is a former Hungarian ice hockey player who has been under contract with Vasas HC since 2017 . With 184 points, he is the top scorer of the Hungarian national team , with which he participated in a large number of international tournaments.

Career

Balázs Ladányi began his career as a hockey player in the youth of Dunaferr SE Dunaújváros , for whose professional team he was active in the Hungarian ice hockey league from 1994 to 2005 . During this time, the attacker won the national championship title four times (1996, 1998, 2000 and 2002) and the national cup eight times (1995, 1996, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004) with his team. Furthermore, the right-handed shooter was runner-up six times (1997, 1999, 2001, 2003, 2004 and 2005) with Dunaferr SE Dunaújváros. In the summer of 2005 he finally moved to their league rivals Újpesti TE , for whom he spent another two seasons in Hungary before moving to the Briançon Alpes Provence Hockey Club in the French Ligue Magnus before the 2007/08 season. With Briançon he was runner-up in 2008 and 2009 and was twice in the final of the Coupe de la Ligue in the same period .

For the 2008/09 season Ladányi returned to his homeland and signed a contract with Alba Volán Székesfehérvár , for which he played in the Austrian Ice Hockey League and the Hungarian Ice Hockey League until January 2013 . In 2010, 2011 and 2012 he became Hungarian champion with Alba Volán. In January 2013 he moved to Italy, where he signed with the record champions HC Bozen from the A1 series . Already in the summer of that year he returned to his old club back, which he in 2014 while won the main round of the MOL League, to which he contributed as a scorer and -vorbereiter significantly, but then already in the semifinals at the 2010 Braşov ASC Corona failed. During this season he was also voted striker of the year and in the all-star team of the MOL league. He then moved to the MOL league newcomer Debreceni HK , for whom he played in the MOL league until 2015 . He then ended his career and moved to the club's coaching staff. He looked after the U20 juniors from the Erste Bank Young Stars League and, in the meantime, the first men's team from the MOL League.

He has been a coach at Vasas HC from Budapest since 2017 .

International

For Hungary Ladányi took part in the junior division at the U18 Junior C European Championships in 1992 , the U18 Junior B European Championships in 1993 and 1994 and the U20 Junior C World Championships in 1993 , 1994 and 1995 .

In the senior division, he was in his country's squad at the World Championships in Division II in 1995 , 1996 , 1997 , 1998 and 2000, as well as in the World Championships in Division I in 1999 , 2001 , 2002 , 2003 , 2004 , when he was the top scorer of the tournament, 2005 , 2006 , 2007 , 2008 , when he was the top scorer and best assist provider of the tournament, 2010 , 2011 , 2012 and 2013 as well as at the 2009 World Cup . He also ran for his country in the qualifications for the 2010 and 2014 Olympic Winter Games .
