The 2005/06 season of the Interliga was the seventh edition of the ice hockey championship designed as the successor to the Alpine League and was played with a total of seven teams from three countries. The defending champion was HK Jesenice , who was able to defend his championship in the new season.
The field of participants remained almost unchanged. With the Újpesti TE , only another Hungarian representative was added.
The mode also remained the same. In the basic round, a double round trip was played, which resulted in a total of twenty-four rounds. This was followed by playoffs with quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals, with the quarter-finals being played as best-of-three , the rest as best-of-five series. The quarter-finals consisted of three series, in which the teams in ranks two to seven took part, which determined the three remaining participants in the semifinals (the leader of the table after the basic round was set for the semifinals).
