The Malmö Isstadion is an ice rink in Malmö, Sweden, in the southern province of Skåne län . It was the venue of the two ice hockey clubs Malmö Redhawks and IK Pantern .
history
The Malmö Isstadion was opened in 1968 and currently offers 5,800 seats, of which 4,800 are seated and 1,000 are standing. The building was renovated in 2013. In addition to the ice hockey games, other sporting competitions such as badminton , figure skating or handball take place in the hall. From the opening to the move to the Malmö Arena in 2008, it was the home of the Malmö Redhawks ice hockey club .
The Badminton World Championships in 1977 , the Eurovision Song Contest in 1992 and the European Figure Skating Championships in 2003 took place in the hall. The top division of the Ice Hockey World Championships of the U20 Juniors 2014 and the Women 2015 played their games in the ice rink in Malmö.
The multi-purpose hall is one of five venues for the 2016 European Women's Handball Championship .
Concerts
In addition to sporting events, the hall was used as a concert hall until the opening of the large Malmö Arena.
