The 2018/19 season of the Italian Ice Hockey Championship was the second under the name Italian Hockey League (IHL). The Rittner Buam became Italian champions .

The top tier was the IHL Serie A (previous year IHL Elite ) with eight teams that took part in the international Alps Hockey League at the same time . The actual Italian Hockey League consisted of ten clubs. The third level was formed by the Italian Hockey League Division I in two regional groups.

Milano Rossoblu is new to the league. The Milanese can take part in the AlpsHL due to a special regulation for regional capitals. HC Neumarkt withdrew from gaming. Attendees:

Main round

The main round included the matches between the Italian teams during the main round of the AlpsHL, but the games of the additional "regional round" did not count. The best four teams qualified for the play-offs.

After Ritten won the first game (4: 3) and Asiago won the second game (6: 2), the championship was decided in a 20-minute overtime. In this Olegs Sislannikovs scored the decisive goal for Ritten in the 78th minute and thus secured the fifth championship title for Ritten Sport.

Italian Hockey League

Newcomer to the league is Brixen. Milan switched to the IHL Elite, Feltreghiaccio and Chiavenna were relegated to Division I.
