Marek Strzyżowski (born January 1, 1989 in Sanok ) is a Polish ice hockey player who has been under contract with GKS Katowice in the Ekstraliga since 2016 .

Career

Club

Marek Strzyżowski began his career in the youth academy of the Polish ice hockey association Szkoła Mistrzostwa Sportowego in the second class I league , for which he played until 2007. At the age of 18 he moved back to his hometown to KH Sanok . With the club from the Subcarpathian region , he won the Polish ice hockey cup in 2011 and 2012 - each with final victories against Aksam Unia Oświęcim - where he contributed a goal to the 3-2 success after a penalty shoot-out in the 2012 final. In 2012 he and his team won the Polish championship title for the first time in the club's history . In 2014 he was able to repeat this success. He has been playing for GKS Katowice since 2016 .

International

For Poland, Strzyżowski only took part in Division I of the U18 World Junior Championship in 2007 .

He made his debut in the men's national team in November 2012 in the Olympic qualification for the 2014 Games in Sochi . He also played for his home country in the Division I games of the 2013 and 2014 World Championships .
