Edgar Salis

Edgar Salis (born May 20, 1970 as Edgar Rudolf Dietegen von Salis in Malans ) is a Swiss ice hockey official and former player. He was head of sport at the ZSC Lions until April 2017 and has been in charge of player screening at ZSC since then. During his playing career, Salis was twice Swiss champion and was a national player.

career

Player career

Salis was born in Malans and grew up on a farm in Chur . He comes from the youth movement of the EHC Chur , for which he made his debut in the National League A in the 1991/92 season  . He had previously played for EHC Arosa  and SC Rapperswil-Jona. In the 1992/93 game year, the defender was on the ice for SC Bern , and between 1993 and 1997 he was  under contract with Zürcher SC (later ZSC Lions). As a result of a two-year stay at HC Ambrì-Piotta  , Salis returned to the ZSC in 1999 and played there until the end of his career in 2005. His successes include winning the Swiss championship twice with Zurich (2000 and 2001) and winning the IIHF three times Continental Cups  ( 1998 with Ambrì, 2001 and 2002 with Zurich).

Salis took part with the senior national team at the 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City and three A world championships. He came to a total of 95 full internationals.

Functionary career

Following his playing career, Salis completed training as a social pedagogue and was a player agent. In January 2009 he took up the post of sports director of the ZSC Lions and as such became a member of the management team. In April 2017, he left the post of sports director and took over player screening at the ZSC in the national and international area.
