Peter Conradin von Planta (born September 24, 1815 in Zernez , † September 13, 1902 in Canova ) was a Swiss lawyer , journalist and politician .

Life

Peter Conradin von Planta came from the old Grisons ministerial family of the Planta . He attended Chur high school from 1828 to 1834 and the St. Thomas School in Leipzig in 1835 . From 1834 to 1837 he studied law at the University of Leipzig and at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg .

In 1841 he became mayor of Zernez . From 1843 to 1848 he worked for the magazines Heil des Tellen and Neue Helvetia , from 1843 to 1848 for the newspaper Freie Rätier , from 1851 to 1856 for the Liberal Alpenbote and from 1860 to 1865 for the Neue Bündner Zeitung .

In the canton of Graubünden he worked as a city ​​clerk , city ​​judge , district president, district judge, government councilor , professional committee member, councilor and cantonal court president . He was also a member of the Council of States and in 1857 a member of the National Council .

He worked as a lawyer and as an actuary at the Federal Supreme Court in Bern. He worked on the Graubünden civil code of 1861.

Planta headed the Swiss Charitable Society , the Swiss Lawyers Association and the Historical and Antiquarian Society of Graubünden. In 1862 the University of Zurich awarded him an honorary doctorate.

After 1850 he sold Wildenberg Castle in Zernez, which had been owned by von Planta since 1302 .
