Manuele Celio (born June 9, 1966 in Faido ) is a former Swiss ice hockey player and current trainer of the Swiss U20 youth national team. During his playing career he played for the Swiss clubs EHC Kloten and HC Ambrì-Piotta .

Career

Manuele Celio, cousin of Nicola Celio , played for the first time with HC Ambrì-Piotta in the National League A in the 1982/83 season . After four seasons in which he experienced the club's relegation and promotion, he moved to EHC Kloten , where he played a total of 11 seasons and won the Swiss championship four times. He only played for Ambrì-Piotta for the 1988/89 season.

After his playing career, he switched to coaching. He started as an assistant coach in the 2004/05 season with the GCK Lions . Manuele Celio has been a trainer at the Swiss Association since 2006. In addition, when he coached all of the Swiss youth teams, he made it to the position of assistant coach for the national team .

International

For the Swiss national ice hockey team , Celio stormed nine world championships between 1987 and 1997 . He took part in the Olympic Games in 1988 and 1992 , where he scored one goal each.
