Mohamed Mouldi Marsit

Mohamed Mouldi Marsit (born January 14, 1944 in Kebili ; † September 8, 2016 ) was a Tunisian lawyer . From 1996 to 2005 he was a judge at the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea .

He completed his studies at the École Nationale d'Administration in Tunis . He then entered the civil service, initially as an administrative officer, then a department head and finally an advisor to the Tunisian government. In 1994 he switched to the foreign service of his country. He served as the Prime Minister's representative on several occasions . For example, from 1975 to 1980 he exercised its rights with the Tunisian company Compagnie Tunisienne de Navigation . In the Continental Shelf Case , Marsit represented the Tunisian government before the International Court of Justice . He was a member of the Tunisian delegation to the 3rd UN Conference on the Law of the Sea and took part in the deliberations on the establishment of the International Seabed Authority and the International Tribunal for the Sea. From October 1, 1996 to September 30, 2005, Marsit was a judge at the International Tribunal for the Sea in Hamburg .
