Career

Moore at the AHL All-Star Classic 2019

Moore, who was born in Thousand Oaks, California , spent part of his junior career in the Los Angeles Kings- supported junior program of the Los Angeles Selects before moving to the junior league United States Hockey League for the 2011/12 season. There the striker was active for the Tri-City Storm for two years and made a total of 113 games for the team. In the summer of 2013 Moore finally moved to the University of Denver , where he studied for three years and was also active for the university team in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference , a division in the game operations of the National Collegiate Athletic Association . With the Pioneers , the offensive player won the NCHC division championship at the end of his rookie season . In addition, he has received numerous individual awards over the course of three years, including being named Striker of the Year for the NCHC in 2015, when he completed his best year with 44 scorer points in 39 missions. He also achieved this value in the 2015/16 season, but he played one game more than the year before.

Moore was finally signed undrafted in July 2016 by the Toronto Maple Leafs from the National Hockey League , which ended his professional studies prematurely. At the beginning of the 2016/17 season , the attacker was used in their farm team , the Toronto Marlies , in the American Hockey League , where he later developed into a leading player. At the end of the 2017/18 season , he won the Calder Cup with the Marlies . During the 2018/19 season , in which he participated in the AHL All-Star Classic , Moore finally made his debut in his third professional year for the Maple Leafs in the NHL. His expiring contract was prematurely extended by two years by the franchise at the beginning of 2019 . By the end of the season, he was in 32 games in the NHL squad, including all seven games of the Stanley Cup playoffs 2019 .

After almost three and a half years in the organization of the Leafs, Moore was handed over to the Los Angeles Kings in February 2020 together with a third-round vote for the NHL Entry Draft 2020 and a conditional third-round vote for the NHL Entry Draft 2021 . In return, Toronto received Jack Campbell and Kyle Clifford .

For his home country, Moore took part in the junior division of the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament 2012 . He was used in four tournament games and scored one goal. The Americans finished the tournament in seventh place.
