Matthew Luff (born May 5, 1997 in Oakville , Ontario ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League since September 2016 and since March 2017 for their farm team , the Ontario Reign , in the American Hockey League plays on the position of the right winger .

Career

Luff first spent his junior years until the end of the 2013/14 season in his hometown of Oakville in the province of Ontario . After the striker was initially there for the junior team of the Oakville Rangers , completed ten missions for the Oakville Blades from the Ontario Junior Hockey League during the season . For the 2014/15 game year he was finally signed by the Belleville Bulls from the Ontario Hockey League after they had selected him in the OHL Priority Selection a year ago . With the Bulls, Luff completed his first OHL season before moving with the franchise in the summer of 2015 and wearing the Hamilton Bulldogs jersey in the same league for the next two seasons . During this time, the Canadian became the first Bulldog player to be awarded an NHL entry contract when he received a contract offer from the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League in September 2016 . In the NHL Entry Draft , he was not considered.

After completing his junior career, Luff made his debut in the roster of Los Angeles' farm team , the Ontario Reign , in the American Hockey League at the end of the 2016/17 season . At the beginning of the 2017/18 season he was part of the team's regular squad for the season and, including the playoffs, made 71 appearances in which he scored 30 points . After the offensive player had also been in the Reign squad at the beginning of the 2018/19 season, he was appointed to the Los Angeles Kings NHL squad for the first time in early November 2018, where he subsequently received a regular place.
