Oakville [ ˈoʊ̯kˌvɪl ] is a Canadian city west of Toronto and Mississauga in the province of Ontario with 182,520 inhabitants on an area of 138.88 km².
Settlement by British immigrants began in 1807 on the original military route Dundas Street and the shores of Lake Ontario .

Oakville is the Canadian headquarters of the fast food chains Tim Hortons , Teriyaki Experience and Wendy’s . One of the most important employers is the Ford Motor Company of Canada . The models Flex , Edge SE / SEL / SEL AWD / LIMITED / SEL SPORT and the Lincoln MKX , Lincoln MKT are built in Oakville . There is also a delivery center for the German company Orafol . The Canadian branch operates under the name ORAFOL Canada Inc.
