Kyle Wilson (born December 15, 1984 in Oakville , Ontario ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who was last under contract with the Eisbären Berlin from the German Ice Hockey League .

Career

Kyle Wilson began his career as a hockey player at Colgate University , where he was enrolled from 2002 to 2006, while playing for their ice hockey team in the National Collegiate Athletic Association . In 2006 he was elected to the second All-Star Team of ECAC Hockey . During his university days, the center was selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2004 in the ninth round as a total of 272 players by the Minnesota Wild , for which he never played. Instead, he signed on October 6, 2006 a contract as a free agent with the San Antonio Rampage from the American Hockey League . He also played five games for the South Carolina Stingrays from the ECHL . He then moved to the Hershey Bears during the 2006/07 season , where he had a regular place in the AHL for the next four years. Already in his first AHL season he was voted Player of the Week in March 2007, in which he completed the victory in the East Division of the Bears with 10 points in 3 games. In the following playoffs he reached the final with Hershey, was the best rookie in the playoffs with 16 points and 7 goals and was the best player of his team behind Tomas Fleischmann . With 30 goals, Wilson was the Bears' top scorer in the following 2007/2008 season . In the seasons 2008/09 and 2009/10 he won the Calder Cup with his team . In the 2009/10 he also made his debut in the National Hockey League for Hershey's cooperation partner Washington Capitals , for which he prepared two goals in two games.

On July 2, 2010 Wilson signed a contract as a free agent with the Columbus Blue Jackets , for which he scored four goals in 32 games in the NHL in the 2010/11 season and gave seven assists. In parallel, he ran in 23 games for Columbus' farm team Springfield Falcons in the AHL. In this he scored twelve goals and twelve assists in 23 games. In July 2011, the Canadian moved to the Nashville Predators , where, with the exception of five NHL missions, he also sppietel mainly for the Milwaukee Admirals farm team in the AHL.

For the 2012/13 season, the Canadian signed a contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning , but spent the first half of the season with the Syracuse Crunch before he was transferred to the Anaheim Ducks in March 2013 in exchange for Dan Sexton . After Wilson was only on the ice for the Norfolk Admirals farm team at the Ducks , he decided to move to Europe in June 2013 and joined the Latvian club Dinamo Riga from the Continental Hockey League . There he scored a total of 44 scorer points from 49 games in the 2013/14 season , making him the best scorer in his club and one of the 10 best-scoring players in the KHL in the main round. For the following season he moved within the league to HK Tractor Chelyabinsk . There the Canadian was initially unable to build on his performance from the previous year and returned to Riga in November 2014. After he only marked nine scorer points from 28 games there, he signed with the Swedish club MODO Hockey from the Svenska Hockeyligan in June 2015 . In January 2016, the attackers moved to the SCL Tigers in the Swiss National League A .

In July 2016, Wilson was signed by Eisbären Berlin from the German Ice Hockey League (DEL), but with 20 points in the season , the Königstransfer failed to meet expectations, so his current contract was canceled after a year. Wilson himself justifies his drop in performance with an injury from his first year in the KHL that has not been recovered.
