Blake Lizotte (born December 13, 1997 in Lindstrom , Minnesota ) is an American ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Los Angeles Kings in the National Hockey League since April 2019 and plays for them on the position of the center .

Career

Blake Lizotte played for the Chisago Lakes High School ice hockey team in his youth . For the 2014/15 season he moved to the Minot Minotauros in the North American Hockey League , the second highest junior league in the USA after the United States Hockey League (USHL). There he convinced with 52 scorer points from 56 games and was therefore named Rookie of the Year. In the following year, the attacker joined the Fargo Force from the USHL, which he led as team captain from the 2016/17 season . At the same time he achieved a point average of over 1.0 per game and was therefore considered in the USHL Second All-Star Team . He then enrolled at St. Cloud State University , with whose huskies he participated in the game operations of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC), a league in the game operations of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The American also achieved convincing offensive performances in college and was elected to the NCHC All-Rookie Team and the NCHC First All-Star Team during his two years at St. Cloud State .

Without previously being considered in an NHL Entry Draft , Lizotte signed an entry contract with the Los Angeles Kings from the National Hockey League (NHL) in April 2019 as a free agent . Only a little later, towards the end of the 2018/19 season, he made his debut in the highest professional league in North America. With the start of the 2019/20 season, the center will be used regularly for the Kings in the NHL.
