Career

Alex Iafallo played in his youth for the Buffalo Regals in his native New York, before he moved to the Fargo Force in the United States Hockey League (USHL), the highest junior league in the USA, for the 2011/12 season . The center forward was active in Fargo for two years, especially in the 2012/13 season with 43 scorer points in 50 games. He then moved to the University of Minnesota Duluth and began to study organizational management (Organizational Management) , while at the same time with the Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs he participated in the game operations of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC), a league of the National Collegiate Athletic Association ( NCAA).

As a freshman , Iafallo had eleven goals and as many assists in 34 games, so that he was chosen for the NCHC All-Rookie Team . However, the American only made his breakthrough in Minnesota in his last college season, the 2016/17 season. With the Bulldogs he celebrated the championship of the NCHC this year and was significantly involved with 51 points from 42 games, so that he was appointed to the NCHC First All-Star Team . In addition, the attacker attracted attention from the National Hockey League (NHL) with these achievements , so that he - without having previously been considered in an NHL entry draft - signed an entry-level contract with the Los Angeles Kings in April 2017 .

In the subsequent pre-season, Iafallo recommended himself sustainably, so that he made his debut for the Kings in the NHL in October 2017 and has been there regularly since then.
