Johan Motin (born October 10, 1989 in Karlskoga ) is a Swedish ice hockey player who has been under contract with Helsingfors IFK in the Finnish Liiga since May 2018 .
Career
Johan Motin began his career as a hockey player in the youth of Färjestad BK , for whose professional team he made his debut in the Elitserien in the 2006/07 season , giving four assists in a total of 31 games. In his first season as a regular player, the defender made four assists in a total of 65 in the 2008/09 season and was Swedish champions for the first time in his career with his team . Parallel to the game with Färjestad, the right- shooter ran for Skåre BK in the third division Division 1, and Bofors IK in the second division HockeyAllsvenskan . In addition, he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2008 in the fourth round as a total of 103rd player by the Edmonton Oilers . A year later, a three-year contract was signed with the Oilers. The defensive player spent the 2009/10 season with the Springfield Falcons in the American Hockey League , for which he completed 55 games and scored six points. In the same season he made his debut for the Edmonton Oilers in the NHL when he ran up on March 3, 2010 in the game against the Chicago Blackhawks . In September 2010 he was sent to the Oklahoma City Barons . The Swede also began the 2011/12 season with the Oklahoma City Barons in the AHL, before returning to his home country in November 2011 and agreeing on an employment relationship with Timrå IK .
International
For Sweden Motin took part in the U18 Junior World Championship in 2007 and the U20 Junior World Championship in 2008 .
