Lennart Petrell (born April 13, 1984 in Helsinki ) is a Finnish ice hockey player who has been under contract with the HIFK Helsinki in the Liiga since May 2016 .

Career

Lennart Petrell began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of HIFK Helsinki , for whose professional team he was active from 2003 to 2011 in the SM-liiga , the top Finnish league. His greatest success with the team was winning the Finnish championship in the 2010/11 season . He mainly contributed to this success in the playoffs when he scored twelve points scorer in 13 games, seven of which were goals.

For the 2011/12 season Petrell was committed by the Edmonton Oilers from the National Hockey League .

International

For Finland , Petrell took part in the junior division exclusively in the U20 World Junior Championship in 2004 , where he won the bronze medal with his team. In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad for the Euro Hockey Tour in 2008, 2009 and 2011 .
