Josh Unice (born June 24, 1989 in Toledo , Ohio ) is an American ice hockey goalkeeper who has played for the University of Western Ontario in the CIS since 2010 .

Career

Unice was selected in the third round of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft in 86th place by the Chicago Blackhawks . From the 2007/08 season he played with the Kitchener Rangers in the Ontario Hockey League and brought them to the final of the Memorial Cup 2008. The following year he won the J. Ross Robertson Cup and Memorial Cup with the Spitfires . In the 2009/10 season he ran for both the Windsor Spitfires and the University of Western Ontario on the ice after starting his studies there. Unice stood between the posts for the Western Mustangs in the following season.

International

In 2006 Unice won the silver medal at the World U-17 Hockey Challenge with the US selection , in the following year he took part in the U18 Junior World Championship as a member of his home country and won the silver medal again with the USA. In addition, the Unice was named the best goalkeeper of the tournament and voted into the All-Star of the World Cup. Another year later, the goalkeeper took part in the World Cup with the U-20 national team of the United States.
