The Traunsteiner Skihütte is an alpine club hut of the Traunstein section of the German Alpine Club at an altitude of 1160 meters on the Winklmoos-Alm south below the Dürrnbachhorn . The hut is located in the municipality of Reit im Winkl in the Upper Bavarian district of Traunstein, a few meters from the state border with Austria . It is a popular resting station on the Winklmoosalm , made famous by Rosi Mittermaier , an extensive alpine pasture area between the Dürrnbachhorn and the Steinplatte . The Traunsteiner Skihütte is open almost all year round (except for company holidays and Wednesdays) and can be easily reached in summer via a toll road and in winter via the gondola lift from Seegatterl (on the B 305 ). For mountaineers, the hut is an excellent starting point for various summit tours and crossings, while the area is ideal for skiing in the cold season .

- From the Heutal (980 m, parking lot, near Unken ) over the country path, easy, walking time: 1½ hours
- Overnight guests can drive up to the hut via the toll road " Höhenstraße Winklmoosalm " from Seegatterl
