Yevgeny Vladimirovich Bumagin ( Russian Евгений Владимирович Бумагин ; born April 7, 1982 in Belgorod , Russian SFSR ) is a Kazakh - Russian ice hockey player who has been under contract with HK Almaty in the Kazakh championship since November 2014 . His younger brother Alexander is also active as a professional ice hockey player.
Career
Yevgeny Bumagin began his career as an ice hockey player in the youth department of the HK Belgorod and switched to HK Lada Tolyatti at the age of 16 , for whose second team he was active in the Pervaya League , the third Russian division, from 1998 to 2000 . He was then selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2000 in the eighth round as a total of 260 players by the Detroit Red Wings , for which he never played. Instead, the attacker then spent one season each in the second-class Wysschaja Liga at ZSK WWS Samara , Disel Pensa and Motor Barnaul . From 2003 to 2006, the left shooter was in the Kazakh championship at Kasachmys Karaganda and the Wysschaja Liga on the ice, where he ended the 2005/06 season at HK Sibir Novosibirsk , for which he scored a goal in five games in the Russian Super League until the end of the season .
In the 2006/07 season, Bumagin joined his ex-club HK Lada Tolyatti in parallel in the third-rate Perwaja League and the Super League. This was followed by a year and a half in the Vysschaya League at Barys Astana in Kazakhstan and Neftjanik Almetyevsk , before he signed a contract with Metallurg Novokuznetsk during the 2008/09 season , for which he has since been active in the newly founded Continental Hockey League . In 2010 he returned to Astana and was then active for Barys in the KHL and the club's second team in the Kazakh league.
In the 2013/14 season he first played for Neftjanik Almetyevsk , before he was released on December 31, 2013 and was then without a club. In autumn 2014 he played two games for Jermak Angarsk , before he was signed by HK Almaty in November , for whom he plays in the Kazakh championship .
International
For Kazakhstan , Bumagin took part in the World Championships of the top division in 2010 and 2012 , where he and his team finished 16th and last place and had to accept immediate relegation to Division 1. At the World Cup of Division I in 2011 , he and his team managed to gain direct promotion. In addition, he won the title with the Kazakh selection at the Winter Asian Games 2011 with a 4-1 win in the decisive game against Japan .
